Steel Framework
All structures are built to Australian Standards for all regions around the country. To comply with the code we need to use structural grade 350 Australian made (BHP) steel for manufacturing our framework. This ensures you, our customer, the highest quality structure available as compared to imported steel or lower grade 250 steel which can fail when subjected to strong wind loads. Our specifications are on our quotation form for you to compare with other suppliers.
Steel Finish
We give you the option to choose the steel finish on your structure while pointing out the benefits of each.
- Hot Dip Galvanised Finish
With this option you gain maximum protection from rust penetration as all parts of the steel both internal and external and including all welds are totally coated with a galvanised protective layer. This is critical for base plate installations and corrosive environments. - Powder Coated Finish
This option provides both a protective and decorative finish to the steel framework and is available in a wide range of colours. Proper preparation of the steel is vital to ensure a quality finish that will last for years. Powder coating must only be peformed over galvanised steelwork. In some cases it is advisable to incorporate both of the above finishes particularly around water or near the sea.
Engineering and Certification
All free standing shade structures include a full engineers design certificate which is included in our quotation. Shade sails do not include certification as they are site specific due to the infinite design possibilities. We can arrange certifications as required.
Shade Fabrics
We use only high density commercial grade shade fabrics for both shade structures and shade sails. These are a knitted polyethelene material incorporating high strength and high protection from UV radiation. These factors are critical to reduce the effects of the damaging sun and hail.
PVC Membrane
Where a total waterproof situation is required we recommend a PVC membrane cover. It is worth noting that PVC installations are a lot more complex than shade mesh installations as they require a heavier support and tensioning system. As we use various suppliers of fabric for different applications, you will need to consult with us as to the most suitable for your situation and budget. All shade materials used by us carry their own manufacturers warranty.
